Thanks for organising the run! My first timer report from the Lighthouse 10 run

  • http://janefraser.blogspot.com/ JaneF

I enjoyed the race again, but still think some better organization at the end is needed. This year was better than last year – with that insane tent mob – but the one person writing down the times/numbers at the end bottle neck was really silly. Also I wish the clock could be raised because with the congestion at the end it is always hard if not impossible to SEE it, and I like to take my official time as the clock time when I finish…

I challenged a bunch of colleagues – who are insanely fit – so I came second last out of the 8 but at 00:55 and position 899 I was happy.

Thanks for your comment Jane. I do agree that the finish needs to be looked at, possibly a move away from the card handout version of timing. With so many people finishing at the same time, it is a challenge.

  • Quintus

Thanks for a fantastic race! When and where will the results be avaialable?

    • http://www.atlanticathletic.co.za Andrew

Not yet, as soon as we get them we will post them here.

  • Jason

Great race, well organised and a lot of fun – but PLEASE try and sort out the start. Maybe replicate the London Nike 10km staggered starts according to estimated finishing times?
Does anyone know where we can find the results and ‘official’ times (took me nearly 2 minutes to cross the start line….)

    • http://www.atlanticathletic.co.za Andrew Smit

      Hi Jason,

Thanks for your comment, we will look at including them next year, although
I don’t believe the current route would allow a staggered start. The results
aren’t out yet, as soon as they are, we’ll post them here.
