Atlantic Athletic Club provides an ideal home and development forum for runners and walkers alike, whatever their pace and ability. We support and encourage each other and through running we explore the stunning surroundings we are privileged to have in Cape Town. You are welcome to join us!
AAC was started in 1979 and with close to 400 members, is one of the bigger clubs in Cape Town. The club is ideally situated for residents of the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard areas, as well as for people who work in town just 5 -10 minutes away. The clubhouse at the Oceana Power Boat Club in the V & A Waterfront is a regular starting point for a whole range of runs: easy routes along the beach front/Sea Point Promenade and through the Waterfront – taking in the marvellous sunsets, views and even storms. A new all-weather track is under construction as part of the 2010 World Cup revival of nearby Green Point Common and we have the fastest, flattest time trial course in the region which will soon be replaced by a jogging track around the new 18 hole golf course now under construction – exciting developments which will make Atlantic the envy of the national running community. For the adventurous and free-spirited, we have access to the trails on Signal Hill, Lions Head, and Table Mountain and for that matter all the way down to Cape Point.
