It gives me great pleasure in telling you that Samson Gulubela, one of AAC’s most promising young runners, placed 2nd in the Knysna Marathon, in a time of 2:36. Perennial performer, Bonisile Ngculana placed 5th in a time of 2:39.
AAC also had some solid results in the half marathon with Simon von Witt leading the AAC runners with a time of 1:17:18 and we had 3 other runners coming in under 90 minutes.

On Saturday the 17th of October, AAC was priveledged to have Bruce Fordyce join us on a run along the recently reopened Chapman’s Peak drive.
Mark Wagenheim was on hand to take a few photos, just to prove that we had the legend among us:
Everyone had an enjoyable ru, bar Chris Readman. As you can see in the second photo above, he was hit by a cyclist, and has the scars (and photograph) to prove it!
The 2009 Outsurance 94.5 KFM Gun Run Results are out!
It was a huge field this year, with 3717 finishers in the 10km race and 2646 in the 21km.
You can download the results by clicking on the links below:
The Outsurance 94.5 KFM Gun Run has come and gone. With nearly 10 000 people taking part in the 21km, 10km and 5km races, a good day out was had by all.
Reader Andre commented this morning, sharing a video with us:
(If you can’t see the video above, click here)
Do you recognize yourself there?
Hi all AAC’ers
It was both a sombre and rewarding experience for all of us who ran the TafelBerg Pack Run last night.
Rewarding, in that the wind forced us to venture forth onto Signal Hill, where the views of the nearly completed stadium gave us hope and confidence that we will be ready for FIFA 2010 kick-off in some 261 days time. (The awesome sunset turning the sky a wonderful shade of pink contributed to the sense of wellbeing.)
And a rather sombre occassion as we realised that one of our own club members finally came of age. We held a rather moving ceremony at Kloof Nek last night as Stephen Seymour presented to our own Chris Readman with his Age Badges for him to wear at the Cape Town Marathon this weekend.
We wish Chris all the very best as he sets forth to complete his 100th marathon journey, and what better way to celebrate than doing it as his first marathon as a Grand-Master………Good Luck Chris!!
See attached “evidence”.
Chris – is that a halo we see in the 3rd pic?
