Dear AAC members
Well another successful Bay to Bay has come and gone and Sunday saw a record field of close to 3 000 participants. We are still reconciling the final participation figures but all in all it went off extremely well and the weather came to the party as well, which was a huge relief, given the howling gales and heat experienced leading up to race day. Thanks to all who came out and helped – it truly is appreciated.
Don’t forget I’ll be at Oceana Power Boat Club tomorrow from 2pm to 5:30pm to handle memberships and licence collections. It’s R200 and please do an eft if you can rather than bring cash.
Just a reminder that online entries for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Trail Runs open on Wednesday 12 January. There are two distances for runners to choose from – a 10km for R95 and a 20km for R160. With entries limited to 400 participants per distance, they are expected to go extremely quickly so enter asap. The trail runs take place on Good Friday 22 April and start at 07h30 from the UCT Campus. No late entries will be accepted and no entries are taken on race day. For more info and to enter online go to www.twooceansmarathon.org.za. You can also enter the fun runs online.
